Description

Cartmel Cottage was built in 1799 at the southern tip of Lake Windermere. The Lake District that is home to this cottage is a stunning and magical area with an equally magical atmosphere. Cartmel also has a piece of this magical land, in a secluded setting, 5 minutes’ walk away from the National Trust Fell Foot park and Lake Windermere itself. Cartmel historically was a School house, and it honours its history with a plaque on the exterior, but once you step inside you are encouraged to relax and enjoy your time here! The cottage has kept its history and character intact and has smoothly integrated the modern-day appliances and facilities to turn it into a holiday home that everyone can enjoy both for its beauty, peace and efficiency.

The entrance hall leads to the inner hallway with a drawing room that has a magnificent fireplace and wood burner adding to the character of the room, additionally it has a large television that you can use for background noise or entertainment. The room just has that atmosphere about it that makes you want to fall into the comfortable sofas and enjoy a drink in front of the fire; it’s a great place to relax, enjoy a drink and gather with your holiday guests for late night conversations. It has patio doors that open into a conservatory that over looks the garden, which acts as a lovely dining room with a view.

The kitchen has been recently refurbished and has been modernised with the necessary appliances. There is also a second dining table here making for a great place for an early morning breakfast, as from here there are more doors that open out to the patio and garden. The gardens have beautiful vantage points, and thanks to the garden furniture you have the perfect opportunity for dining outside when the heat is right. Additionally, on the ground floor there is a games room with a pool table and a PlayStation, so gather here for some friendly competition!

The first of the bedrooms, a double room, can be found on the ground floor, also on this level is a luxurious shower room. Upstairs, on the first floor, is a master room with king-size bed and en-suite bathroom, as well as a second double room, a twin room and a family shower room. On the second floor is the final bedroom, a king-size room with en-suite bathroom.
