Spello is not on the usual tourist trails so you are able to bask in the atmosphere of a real, unspoilt Italian village. Your apartment sits adjacent to the Roman walls of the historic village, meaning you are just a stroll away from the main piazza. A walk around the local area is a real treat and you will find yourself wandering around the cobbled, flower-lined streets filled with beautiful peach-toned villas. In the village, you can find some great restaurants and artisan shops to visit.
Spello is surrounded by plenty of lovely towns and villages for you to visit for when you wish to do a little more exploring. Your apartment is just 8km from the town of Assisi for example, which is famous for Saint Francis of Assisi and the UNESCO World Heritage Site he left behind; the Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi. The Basilica is a fantastic place to visit for tourists as well as being a site of pilgrimage. Assisi is also filled with other wonderful churches and monuments and is packed with art and culture.
