Built across three levels, Villa Persephone is a modern house but with a nod towards the traditional Corfu style. It is tucked away on an exclusive development behind private automatic gates, and approached through landscaped gardens. The ground floor is largely open plan – all the better to take advantage of the beautiful views from every window – and here you’ll find a large sitting room, dining room, small office (or play room depending on your needs) and a spacious kitchen. The kitchen itself is well designed, with all the appliances you would expect, and furnished with everything you’ll need. There are wonderfully generous verandas on this level too – one directly off the sitting room has an outdoor sofa and armchairs, and dining table; it’s the perfect spot to relax after a hot day by the pool with a cold drink, looking out across the bay.
Villa Persephone sleeps 12, across 6 bedrooms, most of which have en-suite bathrooms. There are three bedrooms on the first floor – a master suite and two further bedrooms, all with en-suites. The master bedroom even has a marble bathroom, complete with its own Jacuzzi and sauna. All three bedrooms on this level boast private verandas, and wonderful views – whether it is out across the sea, views of Corfu town’s twinkling lights at night, or the comings and goings of the marina. This level also has a small separate kitchen and sitting room, accessed either via the main house or from an external staircase – great if you’re travelling as a large group, some of whom might want independence from the rest of the villa.
Down on the lower ground floor are three further bedrooms and two more bathrooms. There is also a wealth of further facilities here – not only a separate laundry and utility room, but also a gym, sauna and wine cellar. There is also an office, great if you do need to check in with things back home.
