Saint Germain

Saint Germain is Paris' boho-chic district, famous for its café culture. Situated on the left bank of the Seine, Saint Germain maintains intellects' cafés from last century, for example Les Deux Magots, once frequented by Hemingway, Sartre and Picasso. It is full of Parisian charm, explore an array of art galleries, boutiques, modern cuisine, cafes, and busy night spots and bars when the sun goes down. For a quieter atmosphere in Paris the Luxembourg palace and gardens are also located in this district. Built for Marie de Medicis in the early 17th Century, the ‘Jardin du Luxemberg’ is a peaceful sprawling beauty after a busy day.

The light-filled living room, with its tall, silk-framed windows overlooking the historic Boulevard Saint Germain, is the perfect gathering place for aperitifs, dinner cooked in the charming kitchen, or just unwinding after a day of sightseeing. With a marble-top Knoll table and commode, original Michel Cadestin chairs and fabulous photography by Michel Moch and Frantisek Drtikol, the stage is set for both low-key relaxing and fabulous entertaining. Chapelle, the Latin Quarter, Ile St. Louis, Pont Neuf, shopping on Boulevard St. Germain, and the Latin Quarter. The Luxembourg gardens are less than 5 minutes by foot. The Sorbonne is around the corner. Just minutes down boulevard St. Germain you will find Café Flore and Café les Deux Magots.

Please note:
** This apartment is up two flights of stairs. This would be a problem for anyone with trouble walking or climbing stairs.
** This apartment has curtains and furniture that are made from fragile and expensive materials. This could be difficult for families with small children. You would know best whether you would be comfortable having your children in this apartment. ** There is a cinema located on the ground floor of the apartment building. It is well insulated and no noise transfers into the apartment itself. Once inside the apartment building, you will not even notice that it is there. At certain times of the day, there may be queues of people just outside the building waiting to buy tickets, but the cinema should not affect your stay in any other way.
** The entry and stairwell of the building where the apartment is located are a bit tired and worn and in need of some TLC (tender loving care). The building owners are aware that a refreshment of these areas has been requested, although no date for renovation has been set. The luxe level of the flat is well worth the walk up the stairs and through the hallway.
