Montmartre

Montmartre is Paris' most unique of arrondissements, thanks to hilly setting around the Sacré Coeur and its history in music and the arts. It is famous for its Place du Tertre which is always busy with budding painters. Its narrow streets lead up to the Sacré Coeur cathedral at its crest, with grassy parks overlooking Paris the Sacre-Coeur basilica and the surrounding streets. It is still incredibely charming and the view from the stairs of the basilica will absolutely stun you. There are many interesting boutiques, great cafes, restaurants and bars to be found on the walk around the streets of Montmartre. Live jazz in Montmartre is always at hand and of course it is home to the famous cabaret the Moulin Rouge.

A few important notes...

• This apartment is up 4 short flights of stairs and would be a problem for anyone with trouble walking.
• The shower, although around the corner for increased privacy, does not have a door to separate it from the main room.
• Please be aware that the hot water heater, like the flat, is quite small. Due to space restrictions, the owner was unable to install a larger one. There is enough hot water for one long shower or two short showers. When the hot water has run out, it will take a few hours for the entire tank to heat up again.
• The neighborhood around the apartment is a mix of working class, family, and student. While safe and central, it is not St-Germain-des-Prés. You will be living amongst all types of people, and if you prefer to mix only with tourists and a chic crowd, this budget apartment may not be the best spot for you. If you are looking for an authentic immersion into a real Parisian neighborhood, this flat is an excellent choice for your stay.
