The Marais is one of Paris oldest areas with its winding medieval streets, it is a centre of Parisian artistic and cultural life and home to the famous Pompidou centre. Situated on the right bank of the Seine and within easy walking distance of the famous river, it bustles with life, artisan’s boutiques, galleries, lavish squares, and fascinating history worth exploring. The Marais is one of the only areas that preserves the narrow streets and architectural styles of Medieval and Renaissance-era.

This unique 1 bedroom vacation apartment is located in a 17th-century "hôtel particulier" in the heart of the Marais district in Paris. Owned by a pair of architects, the apartment is a clean, open, modern loft-like space providing luxury, light, and comfort. It is on the 2nd floor up 2 flights of stairs (no elevator – sorry).

Newly renovated, this Marais apartment rental features four large windows opening onto the quite Marais street, overlooking trees and cobblestones in the building's courtyard as well as beautiful gardens across the street. The Picasso garden apartment is a haven of peace in the heart Paris. You most certainly will be charmed by the village feel of the Marais neighbourhood.

This light and spacious one bedroom Paris vacation apartment features a large main room (40m²) equipped with a queen bed, which is low to the ground, and living/dining area. The room is divided by a thick, chic silk curtain, creating a sense of both privacy and intimacy for a bedroom and living space. Or, if you prefer, you can leave the curtain drawn back to reveal a large, streamlined loft-like room. There is a beautiful sofa that folds out to become a comfortable queen bed, an iMac desktop computer (new in 2008), a dining table that seats up to 5, a designer HiFi stereo, flat screen TV, DVD player, telephone with free international calling**, and unlimited high-speed Internet access.

The owner has provided CDs as well as a collection of design, art and architecture books (and Paris guides). This clean space provides all of the luxury, comfort, and style of a boutique hotel and is the perfect "chez vous" to come home to after a day spent wandering the streets of Paris.

Window seats overlook the beautiful gardens across the way and are ideal for reading, people watching, or just gazing out the window. It is a perfect spot to wind down in your lovely vacation rental in the Marais.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped for enjoying the culinary delights of Paris. There is a gas stove, electric oven, coffee-maker, microwave, refrigerator-freezer, and dishwasher. All of the cooking utensils you will need are provided, as are plenty of plates, glasses, and cutlery.

The modern high design bathroom has a large Italian-style walk-in shower, separate toilet (connected to the bathroom) and all of the linens and fluffy towels you will need. This holiday flat also features a Miele washing machine and separate dryer.

The sleek lines and luxury of this apartment will appeal to a young, hip and gay clientele as well as to families with children and friends traveling together. As this Paris flat is in the heart of the Marais, a district known to house a large gay and Jewish community along with fashion aficionados, young couples, families and people in the art world, it is the perfect home base for just about anyone who wants to spend their Paris vacation in comfort and style. The choice of renting such a wonderful space will allow for a vacation of luxury and comfort hard to find in a Paris boutique hotel, thus making it the perfect alternative.

The apartment is walking distance to the Places des Vosges, Picasso Museum, Seine River, Victor Hugo house, Jewish museum, Musée Carnavalet, Rue des Rosiers and all of its falafel restaurants and designer clothing boutiques, Ile St Louis, Left Bank, Bastille, Beaubourg modern art museum, and all of the gay friendly and Jewish restaurants and shops of the Marais.

**Calls are free and unlimited to the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, France and many other countries. Please inquire. Please note: ** This apartment is up 2 flights of stairs. This could be a problem for anyone with trouble walking or climbing stairs. ** The bed is mounted on a low platform. Since it is lower to the ground than most standard bed-frames, some people may find it difficult to climb in and out. The mattress is of good quality and should be very comfortable for those accustomed to a firmer bed.
