Your chateau is situated an hour’s drive from Le Mans, site of the world famous 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world’s oldest endurance sports car race. Though the race is once a year, the city is always a beautiful place to visit; take in the Gallo-Roman architecture in old town, the fine arts at Musée de Tessé, or a grand meal at Michelin-starred Le Beaulieu.
Closer to home, you’ll find dozens of wineries surrounding the Loir river (a tributary of the Loire). The Touraine wine region produces beautifully dry, minerally whites that pair well with food.
