BERGERAC

Description

In a pretty countryside setting, just a short drive from the beautiful market town of Bergerac, Château de la Cheine is a wonderful place for family holidays, celebrations or a reunion of friends. Relax in glorious surroundings and be brilliantly near world-famous vineyards and fine local cuisine.

Set in stunning private grounds, the château features a good-sized swimming pool and picturesque gardens. Kid will love exploring the woodland or perhaps having a game of pool in the games room. Inside, guests will be made to feel welcome in authentic and traditional surroundings with rustic furnishings and charming style, creating a warm and characterful ambience. The classic reception and dining rooms provide room for rest and relaxation whilst ten bedrooms over the first and second floors allow ample space whether you are spending quality time with extended family or old friends.

The delightful owners, who discreetly live in their own cottage in the grounds, are wonderful hosts who can prepare hearty four-course meals on request. Of course, Bergerac is only 6km away where you can explore the historic lanes, visit the famous Maisons de Vins and dine in some excellent restaurants. Wine-lovers can visit some of the local vineyards and châteaux whilst further afield you can head to the wine-town of Saint-Émilion or the wineries around Bordeaux.

The area is famed also for its archaic historical sites and is within easy reach of all the famous 'Perigord' tourist attractions including some of the region’s most charming villages along the Dordogne river. Not to mention canoeing, walking, cycling and golf nearby. This really is relaxing Dordogne at its very best. /n Security deposit /n £1000 paid via bank transfer to the owner before arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection. /n Arrival time /n 4.00 p.m. /n Departure time /n Before 10.00 a.m. /n Energy costs included? /n Yes within reasonable use.
