Illes Balears

Description

In the heart of the idyllic and picturesque village of Deia, this delightful  three-bedroom stone house combines Mallorquin tradition with modern luxuries and would make an ideal holiday home for family or friends looking to discover this enchanting corner of the island of Mallorca.

It was originally used as a school, however it has been recently renovated into a holiday home and every effort has been made to keep as much of the unique character as possible. The owners have succeeded this by retaining the wooden beams, terracotta floors plus an original well features in the kitchen.

The bright and airy first floor living room has contemporary touches such as satellite TV and DVD plus big comfy sofas alongside the original working fireplace and lovely mountain views from the tall windows. There is a further living-dining room on the ground floor, ideal for listening to music, plus another fireplace by the traditional dining area. The pretty well-equipped kitchen includes modern conveniences such as touch-control ceramic hob, upmarket coffee machine as well as the usual appliances you would expect in a modern house.

At the rear of the property is your own private courtyard with pretty pots adding a splash of colour and a luxurious hot tub for guests to use. You will also find two sun-loungers for lazy days at home, a BBQ plus a table and chairs perfect for al-fresco dining at any time of day.  It is easy to forget you are in the heart of Deia from the privacy of your own stone courtyard garden.

Sun worshipers will also love the roof terrace where you will find a couple more sun-loungers and comfy seating as you gaze at the beautiful mountain scenery.

Deia is an idyllic village on the west coast of Mallorca, perched high up with stunning views down to the crystal clear seas. With a stunning backdrop of the ‘Sierra de Tramuntana’, the beautiful village is typically Mediterranean with green shuttered stone houses and narrow streets of pretty boutiques, art galleries, upmarket restaurants, cafes and Mallorquin tapas bars. It is very popular with tourists in the summer, with good reason as visitors come to experience the arty and bohemian vibe, just like the late Robert Graves did when he lived in the village in the nineteeth century.

Cala Deia is a beautiful sheltered pebble cove, a twenty five minute steep walk downhill from the village (or a five minutes drive) where you will find a superb rustic seafood restaurant overlooking the sea.

The pretty town of Soller is a dramatic 10km drive away, a beautiful town so popular with walkers or tourists looking to get off the beaten track.  Take the old wood panelled train through the orange groves from Soller to Palma for a day trip to the magnificent city. /n Security deposit /n 2000 Euros (payable with final balance) /n Arrival time /n 1500 to 2000 unless otherwise arranged /n Departure time /n 1000 /n Energy costs included? /n Yes /n Linen & towels included? /n Yes, including beach towels.
