Illes Balears

Description

In the heart of idyllic Deia, by a little stream, are two pretty cottages that have been lovingly converted into beautiful holiday homes for couples, families or friends wanting to enjoy village life. Deia’s boutiques, art galleries, tapas bars and upmarket restaurants just a short stroll away and a little further down the hill is the pretty Cala Deia cove where you can cool off in the Mediterranean water.

This three bedroom holiday home would be ideal for family or friends. Downstairs there is the feel of open-plan living with a spacious sitting room furnished with both comfort and tradition, wooden beamed ceilings and bright white-washed walls. The hallway and dining area leads through to a very well equipped kitchen with the original fire-place and doors opening up to the terrace. There is also a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom on the ground floor, accessed straight from the living area.

Upstairs there are two further bedrooms, one double and one twin, both decorated and furnished with simplicity and comfort and they each have their own ensuite shower room to use. With views from the rooms of the mountains or rustic patio and gardens, it really is a very special village location.

Outdoors there is a delightful terrace area and barbecue for al-fresco dining, surrounded by terracotta pots of Mediterranean colour, bougainvillea and passion flower pergolas. In the terraced gardens you will find Persimmon, Avocado and Orange trees, all very typical of the island.

With a stunning backdrop of the ‘Sierra de Tramuntana’, the beautiful village of Deia is typically Mediterranean with green shuttered stone houses and narrow streets of pretty boutiques and cafes. It has been welcoming artists, musicians and writers for years and has a bohemian vibe.

Cala Deia, a beautiful sheltered pebble cove, is a thirty minute steep walk downhill from the village (or a five minutes drive) where you will find a superb rustic seafood restaurant overlooking the sea. Fishermen still set out their boats at night so you can enjoy their haul.

If you hire a car you can discover the beautiful island of Mallorca, especially the north-west corner which is a world away from some of the more touristy resorts on the island.  The pretty town of Soller is a dramatic 10km drive away, here you can enjoy the ambience with a glass of wine on the town square with the Sant Bartomeu church or find one of the many walking paths, such as those to the picturesque villages of Biniaraix and Fornalutx. /n Security deposit /n 300 Euros (to be paid with final balance) /n Arrival time /n 1500-2000 unless otherwise arranged /n Departure time /n 10am /n Energy costs included? /n Yes /n Linen & towels included? /n Yes /n Pets welcome? /n No /n Other Ts and Cs /n Small children should be supervised around grounds /n Other 2 /n No parties /n Changeover day /n Flexible (excluding Sundays) /n End of stay cleaning included? /n Yes (owners ask for properties to be left in a clean state as otherwise additional charges may apply) /n Smoking Allowed? /n No, non-smoking property /n Minimum stay /n 5 nights /n Internet access? /n Yes /n Tax /n Every guest who is over the age of 16 will be required to pay the 'Eco Tax' in Mallorca.
