Illes Balears

Description

Can Llora was originally built in the picturesque village of Deia over three hundred years ago. The three bedroom stone house has tremendous views of the village and dramatic mountain landscape, it enjoys sunshine on one of its three glorious terraces from morning til sunset.

The climb up the numerous steps to the villa is worth it as you see the charm of the ancient stone and pretty green shutters.  It was built in the original village of Deia which is a protected area, therefore swimming pools are prohibited but there is a wonderful outdoor shower for cooling down. As it is an old house the interiors have been designed to keep you cool in the summer and as you open the windows you are greeted with magnificent scenery.

The living-dining area is traditional in style with a beautiful wooden table and bench where you can enjoy a relaxing breakfast with a view. The kitchen is very well equipped with traditional touches such as wood beamed ceiling and beautiful taps. Doors lead out to a terrace, perfect for al-fresco dining whilst you enjoy the views.

The three bedrooms feature hand crafted wooden bed frames whilst the bathrooms have stunning Mallorquin stone basins. The master ensuite bedroom has a wonderful terrace, which can also be accessed via an external spiral staircase, perfect for a glass of wine as evening nears.

There is also a garden area featuring sun-beds shaded by a Jacaranda tree plus the refreshing outdoor shower to cool down. Despite being in the heart of the village, the villa has a tranquil ambience where guests can appreciate the beauty and character of the house with its wonderful surroundings.

Deia is an idyllic village on the west coast of Mallorca, perched high up with stunning views down to the crystal clear seas. With a stunning backdrop of the ‘Sierra de Tramuntana’, the beautiful village is typically Mediterranean with green shuttered stone houses and narrow streets of pretty boutiques, art galleries, upmarket restaurants, cafes and Mallorquin tapas bars. It is very popular with tourists in the summer, with good reason as visitors come to experience the arty and bohemian vibe, just like the late Robert Graves did when he lived in the village in the nineteeth century.

Cala Deia is a beautiful sheltered pebble cove, a thirty minute steep walk downhill from the village (or a five minutes drive) where you will find a superb rustic seafood restaurant overlooking the sea.

The pretty town of Soller is a dramatic 10km drive away, a beautiful town so popular with walkers or tourists looking to get off the beaten track.  Take the old wood panelled train through the orange groves from Soller to Palma for a day trip to the magnificent city. /n Security deposit /n 500 Euros (to be paid with final balance) /n Arrival time /n 1500 to 2000 unless otherwise arranged /n Departure time /n 10am /n Energy costs included? /n /n Linen & towels included? /n Yes plus white cotton waffle bathrobes.
