Description
The first thing that strikes you about Villa Marivila is the quirky layout – the ground floor is where three of the bedrooms are, and upstairs on the first floor is the main living accommodation, plus the last of the bedrooms. The layout has been thoughtfully designed this way to make the best of the wonderful views – on the first floor terrace, you can look out over the rooftops to the sea beyond; it’s a super place for a glass of wine in the early evening while you watch the sun go down over the sea.
The villa is well-equipped with air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout – and it comfortably sleeps 8 people across 4 bedrooms. There are two double bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms (one a family bathroom, one a shower room), and two twin bedrooms. There’s also a separate shower room with WC. The bedrooms are all a good size, have tiled floors and bags of storage.
Upstairs you’ll find it’s mainly open-plan – with the living and dining areas here, and the kitchen overlooking both. The living room area has comfortable leather sofas and an armchair, a satellite TV and DVD player; while the dining area has a large table, with plenty of room for everyone. There are large glass doors that take you straight out to the terrace – with a BBQ and table, it’s the perfect place to enjoy some al fresco dining. Up here too is one of the double bedrooms, which also enjoys an en-suite bathroom and even its own balcony.
Outside the villa, very slightly set apart from it and accessed by steps, is the private swimming pool – there are wonderful views from the pool, out across towards the sea.
In Calpe there is the lovely town beach of Playa Arenal, more than one kilometre of fine golden sands and clear waters, its facilities have earned it a blue flag. Calpe is most famous for its spectacular 600m high granite rock on the coastline, Penon de I Fach. A walk around the old town with its narrow streets and pavement cafes is also a must for any visitor to the area.
There are good public transport links from Calpe for those with a sense of independence whilst others may prefer to hire a car to explore some of the more traditional inland villages or less discovered beaches of this interesting and beautiful part of the Costa Blanca. /n Security deposit /n €500 payable on arrival by credit card (visa or mastercard) /n Arrival time /n 4.00 - 7.00 p.m /n Departure time /n 10.00 a.m /n Linen & towels included? /n Linen & bath towels are included in the rental price /n Pets welcome? /n Pets are not allowed /n Other Ts and Cs /n There is a local charge of €18.10 per week to hire a high-chair /n Changeover day /n Saturday (July and August).
