Sarlat

Sarlat-la-Canéda, or simply Sarlat, is a commune in the Dordogne department in Aquitaine in southwestern France.

« Gîte du Présidial », an apartment for 4 people (55 square meters), situated at 4, bis rue Présidial in the heart of the medieval quarter.

Set in a character property, this duplex apartment for 4 has a stone balcony as well as some remarkable features; • a fully-equipped, functional American-style kitchen opening onto the elegant dining area, • a living area with stone fireplace, • two bedrooms on the upper floor, each having a bathroom with Italian-style shower and W.C.

This apartment features a very attractive balcony, a rare privilege in the town centre. TV, DVD player. Gaz central heating. The internet can be accessed from both floors of the Gite via the public WiFi service of SRF-WiFi-FON. The use of this service is at the discretion of the user and its security or otherwise is explicitly not the responsibility of In-Sarlat. It is charged at a cost of €4.90/day (shorter and longer connections are also available).

The signal strength is variable (averaging between 2 and 3 bars) but is perfectly adequate for normal web browsing, email, Skype etc Whether you’re passionate about architecture, art, good food or shopping, you will be spoilt for choice here. Located in the centre of Sarlat’s medieval quarter, you’ll find yourself in the midst of the town’s principal tourist attractions; - the cathedral of Saint-Sacerdos, - the house of Etienne de La Boétie, - la Lanterne des Morts, - la place de la Liberté, - the church of Sainte-Marie, now a covered market with its monumental door and panoramic lift, both designed by Jean Nouvel, winner of the Pritzker prize for architecture. You will also enjoy the town’s excellent restaurants, art galleries and gourmet food stores…..

Sarlat is well known for its culinary specialities, from duck in general to foie gras in particular, as well as truffles and walnuts in every shape and form imaginable. When you arrive we will provide you with a leaflet in French and English to help you make the most of your stay.
